For those of you that didn't hear.. BHW dedicated an entire week to Valentine's Day. I'm a lucky girl! He made a little speech about how this whole week we're going to cross off a ton of stuff from my 2012 Bucket List. Needless to say, I was pumped! BHW gave me a tie-dye kit and we spent the evening staining our hands with dye. I won't go through all the steps, it's too long and complicated, and we didn't really do half of them anyways. We had so much fun figuring out what in the heck we are doing since neither of us had tie-dyed. We opted to just ball up the shirt and squirt it with dye and see what happened. BHW went with blue and orange, his favorite colors and I chose yellow and purple, my favorite colors. His turned out really good! The colors were super vibrant! Mine.. well.. let's just say you can't tell I started out with yellow and purple based on what the shirt looks like now. Check out the finished project below! Which one do you like better?

9PM: Ran to Target to grab some all-nighter essentials (see picture below) Super hyper and excited! 10PM: Changed into comfy clothes and popped in Star Wars Episode 1. Wow, how confusing is it to watch a movie after you've seen the ending of the series?! I was completely lost. Hyper. BHW has already drank 1 of our 4 energy drinks and has eaten half a bag of chocolate. 11PM: Wow, this movie is weird, Natalie Portman is like 23498 different people! BHW and I are already doubting that we'll be able to stay up all night. I'm still awake with no energy supplements.. unless Twizzlers count? 12AM: Movie's over. Time to get movin! I did a few jumping jacks and push-ups to get my blood flowing. BHW opted to move to another seat and play Xbox. I did a little homework. Feeling alright. Eyes getting heavier. 1AM: BHW still on the Xbox, looking at the T.V. made me sleepy, looking at the computer didn't help either. Searching to find something to keep me awake. Coloring in my new coloring book sufficed. I haven't had any energy supplements yet! 2AM: I caved and made a cup of coffee, it's downhill from here. Watched the 2nd Episode of Star Wars. Only 4 more hours until I can sleep. 3AM: 3 o'clock came and went without much activity. Eyes glued to the T.V., time went much faster. Hoping the next few hours go by smoothly. Popcorn and a glass of ice water kept me wide awake. BHW, on the other hand, has been having a harder time staying awake. He keeps wanting to lay on the couch, the prime place to fall asleep! No worries, I keep flicking his nose to keep him awake. :P 4AM: Apparently time has come to a halt. Episode 2 of Star Wars is over and BHW can hardly keep his eyes open. I'm not that tired really, but sleep does sound awfully nice right about now. Going to work on some homework to pass a little bit of time. BHW is playing more Xbox, that seems to perk him up. My tummy is hurting, probably from all the junk food I've been eating all night. Wah. :( 5AM: By far the worst hour of the night. I'm not even tired but my brain keeps telling me I shouldn't be awake. Tryingto stay occupied doing something.. hence me updating right now. My hair has progressively gotten crazier and my eyelids droopier. Can't wait to do homework all day tomorrow..not. 6AM: SLEEP. If this is what being a mother is like... count me out. The most beautiful day in February just so happened to be the day BHW took me to see the sunset.
BHW is usually pretty good with surprises and I had no clue where we were going. We wandered around and took some back roads for about 10 minutes until I mustered up the courage to ask the question you never ask a man, 'Do you know where you're going?' He answered with the simplest of answers.. 'no, but we're almost there.' Oh.. umm? Ok. Whatever you say mister! He took one more turn and we parked in someone's driveway. I had no clue what in the world we were doing. I commented on the beautiful sunset and BHW just chuckled. 'We're here to do #17. You didn't figure that out yet?' :P I love him so much, what a perfect day for a perfect sunset. Another plus was the people whose driveway we were in didn't come home while we were parked there for 20 minutes. xo I completed this with the help of BHW and his best friend MCE!
A little back story; I spent my Saturday outside in a blizzard playing ultimate frisbee in Cincinnati Ohio, and my phone had died during the night. On the way back to Ball State, I turned my phone on to see if I had any battery life left. While looking at the blinking empty battery light on my phone I got a text from BHW that said 'Call me ASAP :)' and then the screen went black. I borrowed a friends phone to call my boyfriend back, surprisingly I got his number right on the first try. He picked up and told me that by luck of the draw, he had received some tickets to a Miami of Ohio hockey game for free! He also said he knew I'd be tired from the tournament but that he also knew 'go to a hockey game' was on my bucket list. If you don't know BHW he is SO not spontaneous so I was shocked to get this last minute invitation, he's such a sweetie. I convinced my teammates to drop me off at BHW's parent's house on the way home from our tournament and BHW would meet me there and we'd head off to the game with MCE! (Thanks teammates for dropping me off!) I tried to get a little nap in before the game but I was too excited for the hockey game! We got to the game and our seats were only 3 rows back! I couldn't contain my excitement, I had to get popcorn, it just felt right for my first ever hockey game! No, I didn't know any of the rules, I freaked out when people started throwing each other into the walls! The only hockey related thing I've ever seen is the Mighty Ducks, and that was years ago. BHW said to keep my eyes on the puck at all times because we were right at the level where the pucks come flying! We actually came close to getting hit once! It was a little exciting. haha. I got to see a Zambonie too! It was so cool to see them make the ice all shiny and 'new' again. Well, I won't go into all the details but the game was SO awesome! Miami won with a score of 4-1! Thanks again BHW and MCE for taking me to my first hockey game. xo My first craft from Pinterest to bring in the new year! Before any of my family members freak out.. yes, this involves alcohol. It's my best friends 21st birthdays (they're twins) and I wanted to bring them a little treat! No, I'm not an alcoholic. No, I didn't drop out of college. No, I don't do drugs. I am 21 though.. so I'm allowed to drink every now and then. :) Now, without further ado, vodka infused gummy bears and worms! 1) purchase vodka (any flavor preference!) I got pink lemonade and gummy bears or worms! 2) Put the gummy bears into a large bowl 3) Pour in vodka so that it just comes over the gummy bears. 4) Just like this. 5) Cover and place in the fridge for 3-5 days. 6) eat! The end result: well, that was interesting.. the trick to eating these is DO NOT CHEW!
They're very hard to chew, and after about 6 chews it really starts to taste gross. So, just swallow em' whole and enjoy. I had about 2 and then was done. They looked cute though! Four more crafts to go! It's January and everyone is still in 'New Years Resolution' mode so the
gym is packed before the sun comes up and long after the sun hides for the evening. I keep telling my friends, 'just wait until after spring break, this gym will be empty!' But not for us girls! I got a team discount on the fitness classes that the Ball State Rec Center offers and we all jumped on that wagon! The fitness schedule is easy to work with, as there are classes almost every hour in the evening! The variety of classes is also awesome, we haven't been to the same type of class twice, except yoga because it rocks. Some of the classes offered are Yoga (my personal favorite), H.A.B.I.T. (hips, abs, butt, inner thighs), Cycling, Piloxing (Pilates and Boxing), and Step. I wanted to join a fitness class because 1) I'll be spending my OWN money on the pass, therefor, I'll actually use it. 2) Working out in groups is wayyy more fun. and 3) I'm more relaxed when I'm active, if that makes any sense. AKA I'm in a much better mood. Yeah, $75 is a lot for a college girl like me but it's worth it and I'm happy that I went through with it. 2 down, 36 to go! What better way to start off the new year than baking homemade cookies with your little sister?!
For those of you that don't know me or my sister, SRD, we don't know how to cook or bake.. at all. This was an adventure before it had even begun and it only got more funny as the baking catastrophe continued. Enjoy the following instructions on how to bake your own homemade chocolate chip cookies. Step 1: measure out the ingredients.. the hard way Seriously? She couldn't just open the box correctly?! Step 2: mix dry ingredients.. preferably with a potato masher Look, it's all I had, I'm a poor college student. Step 3: mix butter.. with hands if necessary I was supposed to melt it apparently. Step 4: add butter to dry ingredients.. it should look something like scrambled eggs/popcorn Not exactly sure how it ended up looking like this.. at this point we started to think about scratching our plan for baking and throwing this mess out. Step 5: add 234092834 pounds of chocolate chips Would you like some dough with your chocolate chips? Step 6: place cookie dough on pan.. not necessarily a clean pan Lazy, I know. Step 7: let cookies cool This is a true test of patience. Step 8: EAT Surprisingly they didn't taste too bad! Today is the day! 2012 has come!
I hope everyone had a fantabulous New Years Eve last night. Sadly, I haven't checked anything off 'The List' yet, but I will. Check back to see how I'm doing! As the current year comes to an end, I'm getting excited and nervous to start crossing off things on my list! I did something similar to this last year when I tried to do 21 things before my 21st birthday. I didn't cross off everything, you can read about it here if you're curious. I don't really mind if I don't cross everything off but it's obviously my goal so we'll see how it goes! Honestly, this list is a little bit of a kick start to 'the new me'. I'm in a funk right now; getting ready to graduate and not really knowing where I'm headed afterwards. This list will hopefully keep me motivated to figure out where I fit in this crazy world. And even if I don't figure it out, I'll have at least done some pretty neat things by 2013. I hope you all had a wonderful time during the Holidays, I'll write about my Christmas later when I can put some cool pictures up. I hope you check back often, the journey begins January 01!
_My 2012 Bucket List. These are the things I want to do/accomplish by December 31st 2012. Some of them are little and silly but others are meaningful and special. I hope you check back often to see how I'm doing! I've posted 'The List' on the sidebar so you can have easy access to it throughout my little journey. What do you want to do by next year? Do you have a 'bucket list' of things to do before you die? If so, what are some things on your list?
